SUMMER INTENSIVE DANCERS TAKE A FINAL BOW
[July 5, 2023]
With a round of applause from families and friends, the curtain fell last Friday on the closing concert of AMB’s 2023 Summer Intensive.
The performance wrapped up three immersive weeks for participants, who danced six days per week, learned classical and contemporary repertory, and gained insights about the dance world from guest faculty members Kristopher Estes-Brown, Nikki Sell, and Chloé-Grant Abel. American Midwest Ballet company artists also taught, and sometimes took classes alongside the students to provide professional inspiration.
“Summer is a great time for dancers to push themselves and find new inspiration,” said AMB company artist Kelanie Murphy, director of the Summer Intensive. “My goal for this program is that it leaves the dancers feeling like they have grown not only in technique, but also in their artistry.”
