American Midwest Ballet Guild/Junior Guild recently presented its inaugural “At the Movies” event by arranging a special viewing of the ballet documentary First Position at Dundee Theatre in Omaha.

First Position is a Sundance Selects ballet documentary directed, produced and edited by Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism alumna – and former ballet student – Bess Kargman. The film follows seven gifted young dance students of diverse social, economic and ethnic backgrounds from around the world as they prepare to compete at a prestigious student ballet competition held annually in New York City.
