Enchanting Nutcracker Tea Party returns Nov. 26 for seventh year at Joslyn Castle

OMAHA — November 8, 2017 — Mark your calendars! Sunday, Nov. 26 is the date for the seventh annual Nutcracker Tea Party hosted by the ballet guild from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
A highlight of the holiday season, the tea party returns to the magical Joslyn Castle. Guests are invited to enjoy an enchanted afternoon filled with holiday treats and beautiful ballet dancers in a real castle right in the middle of Omaha!

CELEBRITY SIGHTING: American Midwest Ballet’s Sugar Plum Fairy is ready to take photos and sign autographs for her young friends.

The Sugar Plum Fairy and her friends from American Midwest Ballet’s The Nutcracker, will share stories and take photos with guests during the afternoon gathering.  Guests are encouraged to bring cameras. The company’s professional dancers will be in attendance to perform excerpts from The Nutcracker, which begins a three-show run the following weekend, Dec. 2 and 3 at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha.
American Midwest Ballet also presents a special pre-Thanksgiving performance at Arts Center at IWCC on Nov. 19, for those excited to get a head start on the holiday festivities.

TEA PARTY MAGIC: If you’re lucky, the sparkling Snow Queen may even paint your face.

“Our ballet dancers love spending a beautiful afternoon with the tea party guests as they enjoy some wonderful entertainment, refreshments and great company,” said artistic director Erika Overturff. “And all of it takes place inside a magical castle! What’s not to love?”
