Ballerina watching: buses, billboards and artists' brushes

OMAHA — Sep. 28, 2016 — September was a great month for ballerina watching! We spied American Midwest Ballet dancers adorning bus ads, billboards and even artists’ canvases.
Dueling bus ads featuring Erin Alarcon (as Odette, the white swan) and Vivi DiMarco (as Odile, the black swan) bedecked city buses in Omaha in anticipation of American Midwest Ballet’s upcoming season debut of Swan Lake at Orpheum Theater on Oct. 22.
Dancers Katherine Eppink and Anna Swenson graced billboards lining Interstate 80 to the delight of commuters everywhere.
Nora Carr, Whitney Walsh, Julie Zukaitis and Kogan Murphy spent an afternoon at Joslyn Art Museum’s Thursdays for Teachers, performing a short excerpt from Swan Lake and posing for paintings.
