Guild president Renee Reiff presented American Midwest Ballet’s artistic director, Erika Overturff, and board chair Greta Vaught with a generous $24,000 donation on behalf of all 74 guild and youth guild members.
The guild’s fundraising efforts during the 2011-2012 season included the Nutcracker Tea Party at Joslyn Castle as well as several boutiques held during performances throughout the season, according to Reiff.

“The incredible support provided by the guild is a key factor in our ability to offer the many educational and outreach programs that American Midwest Ballet provides for students and underserved individuals,” Overturff told the group. “This season, more than 4,000 students benefited from our school matinee performances and educational outreach workshops. Nearly 400 underserved individuals had the opportunity to attend and enjoy a ballet production.”
Overturff shared details about American Midwest Ballet’s 2012-13 productions including:

  • Momentum –  October 19 and 21
  • The Nutcracker – November 30 and December 2
  • Alice in Wonderland – April 26 and 27

American Midwest Ballet will also make appearances in all of Opera Omaha’s 2012-13 season performances.
