Three Dazzling Ballets; one memorable weekend

Thanks to everyone who attended Momentum! Two packed-house public performances plus three special matinees for enthusiastic student audiences made this a weekend to remember!

Particularly meaningful for us was the chance to bring a A Light in the Dark — the inspiring true story of disability activist Helen Keller and her dedicated teacher, Anne Sullivan — to an invited audience of students and teachers from Iowa School for the Deaf. Our guests watched a dress rehearsal accompanied by signed description, then joined us onstage for a close-up look at the show’s props and a question-and-answer session with cast members.

Megan Lynch-Hartig, flanked by Whitney Woods and Leah Kressin, fields a question with the help of an American Sign Language interpreter during a Q&A with ISD students and teachers.

Coming Next: It’s nutcracker season!

Preparations are well underway for The Nutcracker, coming, November 21 & 22* at the Hoff Center and December 4-6 at the Orpheum. New this season: Delightful enhancements to costumes and scenery in the realm of the Sugar Plum Fairy couldn’t be sweeter! Do you have your tickets yet?
