Alice in Wonderland: Meet the Caterpillar

Introducing the Caterpillar!

Alice in Wonderland is headed your way, so we’ve asked the dancers to help introduce you to some of the characters you’ll meet in this imaginative, delightfully original ballet. Today, let’s meet the Caterpillar!

Alexandra Hoffman [Caterpillar]: “The caterpillar scene is very moody in the sense that she starts completely bored with the fact that Alice is in her realm and ignores her through the first part of the variation, but then quickly becomes intrigued by this girl who doesn’t quite know who she is yet. ”

“I’ve been really enjoying revisiting my childhood gymnastics training to accomplish the acrobatic skills of this scene. Even though the beginning of the variation is slow, it showcases a lot of athleticism. As the scene evolves, the audience will enjoy the vision of the mushrooms moving around the stage as Alice and the caterpillar weave through them intricately.”
