American Midwest Ballet Guild held its third annual holiday Nutcracker Tea Party on Sunday afternoon, December 1 at the festive Joslyn Castle. Nearly 200 guests — including Santa — enjoyed an enchanted afternoon filled with holiday treats and beautiful ballet dancers in a real castle right in the middle of Omaha.
The Sugar Plum Fairy, the Arabian Queen and other characters from American Midwest Ballet’s exquisite holiday classic, The Nutcracker shared stories and posed for impromptu photos with guests during the gathering. The company performed excerpts from The Nutcracker which begins its three-show run Dec. 7 & 8 at Orpheum Theater.
Hosted by the ballet guild, the Nutcracker Tea Party is among the highlights of the guild’s season with guests enjoying a beautiful afternoon of ballet with wonderful food and great company in a magical castle.
