Dylis Croman
Dylis Croman started her professional career in New York City dancing with The Feld Ballets/NY at the age of seventeen. She has been working professionally in the business for 30 years. Ms. Croman’s credits include Bob Fosse’s DANCIN’, Chicago, A Chorus Line, Sweet Charity, Oklahoma, Thou Shalt Not, Fosse, Movin’ Out, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. On television, she appeared as Andrew Daniels on “Guiding Light”, “Smash” on NBC, Fosse (trumpet solo, filmed for PBS “Great Performances”), as well as the upcoming musical film “Kiss of the Spiderwoman”.
She was introduced to the Fosse style at an early age by her mentor, Ann Reinking. Ms. Croman was deeply inspired by her teaching of this unique, stylized form of dance that powerfully resonates to this day. She now stars in her dream role of Roxie Hart on the Broadway production of Chicago the Musical. Dylis is proud and honored to pass down the legacy and brilliance of Mr. Fosse’s work to the next generation of young dancers.
Kim Sagami
Kim Sagami is a Chicago-based ballet teacher, répétiteur, and executive director of The Gerald Arpino Foundation. Her teaching style reflects the influences of Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino as well as mentors Maggie Black, Hilary Cartwright (Yoga Narada founder), and Alonzo King (LINES).
She danced professionally with The Joffrey Ballet under the directorship of Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino for fourteen years. Ms. Sagami earned an architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2004. She continues to use architectural concepts to inform her students on body alignment and structure.
Teaching credits include Joffrey Academy of Dance, Visceral Dance Center, Roosevelt University(CCPA), Chicago Ballet Arts, Ballet 5:8, Fort Wayne Ballet, Chicago High School of the Arts, Regional Dance America MidStates Festival.
Film credits include the 1987 film of the Joffrey Ballet’s historic restoration of Nijinsky’s lost Le Sacre du Printemps and the film of BILLBOARDS, a full-length rock ballet with music by Prince. Musical Theater credits include the national US touring company of The Phantom of the Opera.
Ms. Sagami’s teaching certifications include the ABT National Training Curriculum, Zena Rommett Floor Barre™ and Yoga Narada. Ms. Sagami also serves as répétiteur for the Edward Stierle Family Trust.
Caroline Dahm
Caroline Dahm is a dancer, choreographer, and educator based in Los Angeles, CA. A graduate of the UMKC Conservatory with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography, Caroline has performed a diverse repertoire and contributed original choreography across a wide range of artistic mediums. Her performance credits include Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Kansas City Ballet, Buglisi Dance, Wylliams Henry Contemporary Dance Company, Owen/Cox Dance, Quixotic, San Francisco Dance Works, Malashock Dance, and several productions with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City.
As a choreographer, Caroline has created works for Cincinnati Ballet, SALT Contemporary Dance, Newport Contemporary Ballet, Indiana University, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, and Wylliams Henry Contemporary Dance Company, among others. Notably, she has developed five original works for Kansas City Ballet, including the dance film Misguided.
In addition to her performing and choreographic endeavors, Caroline is a dedicated educator. She serves as a Professor of Dance at the UMKC Conservatory, mentors Trainees at the Kansas City Ballet, and teaches master classes across the country. Caroline frequently teaches at Steps on Broadway in New York City.
Caroline’s work has been recognized with a two-year residency from the Charlotte Street Foundation and a Laurel Award for Best Overall Dance Film for her original production Face Me I Face You, which she directed, choreographed, danced, produced, and edited. The film won accolades at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
