AMB Junior Company

AMB Junior Company auditions have concluded for the 2018-19 season.

American Midwest Ballet’s  AMB Junior Company is a student company comprised of highly motivated students seeking to advance their dance skills, or pursue dance training at pre-professional level.

Members are chosen by audition each season by Erika Overturff, artistic director and CEO of American Midwest Ballet.  Junior Company students gain exposure to professional ballet company life, with opportunities to study with artistic staff, learn company repertoire, and improve technique and artistry.

AMB Junior Company is a tuition-based program. Tuition is paid to American Midwest Ballet prior to the start of the first rehearsal class of each term.  The program consists of two 10-week terms beginning in the fall and spring of each season. *Start and end dates may vary at discretion of artistic director.

AMB Junior Company members have performed student roles alongside American Midwest Ballet’s professional dancers in productions of Swing, Swing, Swing!, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Dracula, Snow White, Cleopatra, Sadako, Party Animals, Giselle and Swan Lake, as well as annual productions of The Nutcracker at the Orpheum Theater and Iowa Western Arts Center.

Dance students from all studios are welcome to audition. Pointe work is required at auditions for all young women.
