January 21 auditions for community roles in The Wizard of Oz

Attention young dancers: Would you like a chance to try out for a role in American Midwest Ballet’s production of The Wizard of Oz?

Then register now for the Saturday, January 21 community-wide auditions at the Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center in Council Bluffs! Pre-registration is required.

Auditions will be conducted by Erika Overturff, Artistic Director; Erin Alarcón, Ballet Master and choreographer of The Wizard of Oz; and Susan Chowning, AMB School Director, along with members of the artistic team.

Roles are available for fully vaccinated dancers ages 9+.

Audition Schedule

Ages 9-11 – AMB School students:

  • 2:00-2:30 pm – Check in
  • 2:30-4:30 pm – Audition

Ages 9-11 – Community students:

  • 2:30-3:00 pm – Check in
  • 3:00-4:30 pm – Audition


Ages 12+ – AMB School students:

  • 5:00-5:30 pm – Check in
  • 5:30-7:30 pm – Audition

Ages 12+ – Community students:

  • 5:30-6:00 pm – Check in
  • 6:00-7:30 pm – Audition

Auditions will be at the Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center, 1001 South Sixth Street, Council Bluffs.

Performances of American Midwest Ballet’s The Wizard of Oz will be:

  • April 7: Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center, Council Bluffs
  • May 13 & 14: Orpheum Theater, Omaha
