January 13 auditions for community roles in The Wizard of Oz

Attention young dancers: Would you like a chance to try out for a role in American Midwest Ballet’s Sioux City touring production of The Wizard of Oz?

Then register now for the Friday, January 13 community-wide auditions at 5678! Dance Studio, 208 Westshore Drive, McCook Lake, SD.

Auditions will be conducted by American Midwest Ballet artistic staff. Roles are available for dancers ages 9+. Pre-registration is required.

Please note: There will be a $50 costume-maintenance fee for those cast in the production.

How to register for the audition

Registering for the audition is a two-step process.

First, visit the Siouxland Civic Dance Association [SCDA] events page. Here you’ll enter your contact information and pay the audition fee of $20 per dancer.

Then, finish your registration by completing the AMB online registration form. Once you’ve completed and submitted this form, your registration is complete!

Attention students ages 11 and up: Interested in attending AMB’s 2023 Summer Intensive? You can audition for it at the same time as the Wizard of Oz audition. Sign up to be considered for Summer Intensive only, Wizard of Oz only, or both opportunities! More info here…

  • 4:30-5:00 pm – Check in

Ages 12+:

American Midwest Ballet’s Sioux City touring production of The Wizard of Oz, an original full-length story ballet choreographed by Erin Alarcón, will be performed Friday, April 14, at 7:30 pm, at Sioux City’s Orpheum Theatre.
